Increased demand for seasonings
This is due not only to our increasing demand for prepared food but also the popularity of more highly flavoured foods
In 2007 demand for industrial seasonings, herbs and spices totalled 101,000 tonnes, having grown from 94,400 tonnes in 2002, an annual average growth rate of 1.4%.
These figures make this ingredient sector one of the most important in UK food manufacturing.
